A Day of Thanks

We look forward to Thanksgiving Day all year long - the delicious turkey with cranberries, sweet potato casserole, pumpkin pie and the most important part of Thanksgiving is spending the day with family and friends and reflecting on all the blessings we have to be thankful for - and after a year of waiting it is gone in a matter of hours! We had a great day this year spent with our wonderful daughter, son-in-law, son and daughter-in-law and our adopted children (Sarah, Chris, Dawson and Missy). Now that the kids are married we get to share them every other year with their awesome in-laws so we were grateful to have them with us for this Thanksgiving. We started the day off with great appetizers made by Jared and Cassidy and then everyone together in the kitchen cooking (everyone had to help making a Thanksgiving dinner item - including the boys) followed by a fun game of basketball, watching movies (how can you not love Christmas Vacation), playing Wii and making items to be sold at the Festival of Trees. It was a great day!!!

Below are four of the greatest blessings that Rob and I have ....
Dave and Brandy...

Jared and Cassidy!

The girls worked on a Festival of Trees project while the boys played Wii!!!!!

Who's your team?

If you happen to be in Utah today or tomorrow you will feel the excitment in the air in anticipation of the big rivilary football game between the University of Utah and Brigham Young University that takes place tomorrow afternoon. You will see a sea of red and blue as people support their teams by wearing the school colors. Rob and I have been torn on this matter since we both attended BYU (the BYU coach is only dressing half the players for the game tomorrow - the other half already know how to dress themselves!) but our kids (and money) went to the U of U (what is the difference between a pizza and U of U graduate? A pizza can feed a family of four!). So when Rob left for work this morning and since his work is having a pre-game party today, I was proud to see that he left in a wonderful BYU (how do you get 20 BYU coeds into a volkswagon bug? Throw in a wedding ring!) blue sweatshirt. Go COUGARS!!

7 Weird and Random Facts

I have been tagged by my cute daughter! So here goes........

1. I hate emptying the dishwasher. I would rather hand wash and dry the dishes than empty the dishwasher.

2. I can't stand to have anything caught in my teeth. I have dental floss with me at all times.

3. I was in a motorcycle accident when I was in college. I was riding with a friend's brother and we went over some really bumpy railroad tracks and it vibrated my heel into the spokes and I got to visit the Idaho Falls hospital for surgery!!

4. I was a pretty decent tennis player in high school.

5. I am not a picky eater. I will eat anything!

6. I have a great nose for smell. Rob can walk in the door and I can tell you what he had for lunch!

7. I shave my legs every single day (I'm sure you wanted to know that!).

I tag Eva, Peggy, Sarah O., Darla, Sarah S., Kerra, and Selina

Who's your Papa???

From the time Brandy and Jared were little we have tried to go to Alabama once a year to visit Papa Curtis, Granny Rachel and the rest of the Alabama relatives. Jared always had fun riding in the ole rattly fishing car to the pond with Papa, catching the fish, and then watching Papa clean the fish (Jared wasn't about to clean them)! He built some wonderful memories and a special bond with his Papa Curtis. And the older Jared got the more he even started to look like his Papa. Look at the pictures below and see if you don't agree!

All Treats No Tricks

The Haunted Masion on %$#@* Drive was an exciting place to be on Halloween Night.

A cute little tiger and a bat stopped by for a visit. Did you ever know that a tiger and bat could be such good friends?!?!?

Princess Des, Hippie Brandy, and Waldo's Wenda get a little hungry and decided to catch the donuts flying in the air.

Of course Waldo, the Hippies Husband, and Shaggy did not want to be left out!

No one ever thought you could mix a rocker dudette, Shaggy and Velma, the witch from the west, Princess Des and King Ben, the Blue Man Group, Waldo and Wenda, a beautiful witch, a hippy and her man and a tiny bat all together in one room and have as much fun as we did on one Halloween Night!!
So until next Halloween.......Happy Haunting!!!
